Summary
Join us at the University of Pennsylvania for a workshop on integrated assessment models (IAMs). Better understand how climate mitigation models work and how they inform NDCs.
IAMs are models used to analyze interactions between climate, energy systems, land use, and the economy. Over the past 25 years, they have been the backbone of the IPCC climate mitigation reports.
This is a paid workshop.
Structure:
Four-day introductory workshop on integrated assessment models and a guided tour of the new Scenario Compass Database (17 hours total)
Objectives:
– Get an introduction to global and national integrated assessment models.
– Understand the theoretical foundations and recent developments in integrated energy, land use, and climate mitigation.
– Critically evaluate the strengths, limitations, and policy relevance of IAM-based research.
– Critically interpret IAM-derived results publicly available in the scientific literature.
Facilitator
Roberto Schaeffer, Full Professor of Energy Economics, CENERGIA
