SUMMARY:Exploring Climate and Energy Through Time: A Penn Museum Tour
DESCRIPTION:Summary\nToday social\, political\, and scientific debate are intertwined with the questions of how to build a better and more sustainable future\, but humans have been negotiating these issues for millennia. The history of human experience has always involved applying creative solutions to dealing with weather events\, adapting to diverse climates\, and harnessing the power of nature to produce efficient sources of energy to help us live comfortable lives. This hour-long tour of the Penn Museum will explore the collection with questions of ancient climates and energy production and consumption in mind. Evidence of humanity’s past is represented in the Penn Museum’s galleries\, but the question of humanity’s future is up to us. Much of the ongoing research at Penn is devoted to finding solutions to issues of climate change and energy use\, but maybe we can also learn something from the way that past peoples dealt with climate and energy to ensure that our future is both bright and green. \nSponsor\nPenn Museum
