Funding Opportunity in Climate and Health Solutions

Penn Climate is pleased to share the following funding opportunity related to climate change and health.

Park Bench with Philadelphia Skyline

The Pew Charitable Trusts (Pew) seeks proposals on climate and health that focus on reducing super pollutant emissions (including atmospheric methane, tropospheric ozone, hydrofluorocarbons, and black carbon) and/or mitigating the impacts of extreme heat on human health. Projects may span subnational to international scales, with an emphasis on urban policy opportunities in the northeastern U.S. (especially Philadelphia) and Europe and should identify solutions achievable within 10 years.

Funding available: $99,000

Proposals that address only one of the topics should be viable with approximately half the total budget. Please also note that proposals that include both topics are expected to present distinct analyses of opportunities under each topic, and should not favor one topic over the other in the design of the research.

Key dates:

  • February 20: Expression of Interest & Requests for Clarification

  • February 27: Anticipated release of Pew’s responses to Requests for Clarification

  • March 13: Deadline for Submission of Proposals

  • March 27: Anticipated Date of Award

Key Requirements:

Any party interested in submitting a proposal must submit an EOI via email by February 20 to Stephanie Niave (sniave@pewtrusts.org
