The major in Impact, Value and Sustainable Business (IVSB) is designed to provide in-depth foundations for those interested in how business activities affect natural, human, and social capital – and how these impacts influence risk, opportunity, and sustainable business performance. Graduates will be well equipped to shape strategy, innovation, valuations, investment flows, and policy.

The Veterinary Medicine VMD |Master of Public Health dual degree program trains veterinary medicine and public health students. Candidates choose from several track options and design their plan of study with electives to fulfill the track requirements. The tracks offered include the Generalist Track, Global Health Track, Environmental Health Track, and the One Health Track. Students also complete 125 hours of field work and a culminating Capstone experience that results in a mentored research or mentored project in public health.
The MES/ML dual degree, offered jointly by Penn Carey Law and the School of Arts & Sciences, provides grounding in earth sciences, policy, and other relevant disciplines alongside focused study in environmental law, covering resource use, air and water pollution regulation, and energy policy.
The MES/MPA dual degree combines public management with environmental science, developing the analytical tools and multidisciplinary grounding needed for effective public administration in the face of climate resilience and adaptation concerns. This enables students to meet the complex challenges of the public sector through critical analysis and an understanding of context.
A dual degree program between the Master of Environmental Studies (MES) and Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership (NPL) provides an avenue to make change in the fields of environment, climate, and environmental justice. A large part of environmental work is done through nonprofit and NGO groups; thus, this area of study is relevant to a wide range of students.
Science, Technology & Society examines the social contexts and consequences of science and technology, equipping graduates with multidisciplinary skills for careers in business, law, government, journalism, research, and education.

This certificate draws on the interdisciplinary nature of energy policy education at Penn, and draws from a comprehensive set of courses across several schools at Penn, with a foundational offering in the Weitzman School of Design. The certificate is intended for professional graduate students currently enrolled at the University interested in adding an understanding of energy policy to their list of educational qualifications.
Environmental Studies graduates understand how humans and ecosystems interact with the dynamic Earth, with grounding in the atmosphere and climate change, natural hazards, and the earth’s hydrologic and biogeochemical cycles, as well as environmental economics, sustainability, and policy. Students in the Environmental Policy and Application acquire a background in the social and management aspects of environmental problems.
